Miquel Salmeron has been awarded the 2012 MRS Medal, recognizing his outstanding contributions to the molecular level understanding of material surfaces, made possible by the development and application of Scanning Tunneling Microscopy and Ambient Pressure Photo-electron spectroscopy.
