Professor Robert Birgeneau awarded Arnold and Barbara Silverman Distinguished Chair Award

Last week, Bob Birgeneau was awarded the Arnold and Barbara Silverman Distinguished Chair Award here at Cal. This chair is intended to recognize a faculty member who "has achieved great distinction and recognition," and whose work "should form an integral part of important campus initiatives that build UC Berkeley's preeminence."
