Professor Persson participates in DOE panel on data science

Department of Materials Science and Engineering Professor Kristin Persson was a panelist in a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) session at a national investigators meeting speaking about the ever more important role that data science has to play in basic-science research. Professor Persson, who leads the Materials Project, is a world-leading expert on how open web-based access to computed information on known and predicted materials can be a powerful analysis tool that both helps researchers better understand known materials and design novel materials.
