Professor Yao has been awarded an NSF CAREER grant for work his proposal "Electric Field Localization and Enhancement at Optical Frequencies Enabled by Material's Dissipation."  The Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) program is a National Science Foundation (NSF) wide program that supports outstanding junior faculty "who exemplify the role of teacher-scholars through outstanding research, excellent education and the integration of education and research within the context of the mission of their organizations."
