Professor Rob Ritchie Announced as Winner of the 2017 TMS Morris Cohen Award

Professor Robert Ritchie, Chua Distinguished Professor of Materials Science and Engineering at UC Berkeley, and Faculty Senior Scientist of the Materials Sciences Division at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, has been named the 2017 winner of the Morris Cohen Award from The Minerals, Metals and Materials Society (TMS).  The award was established in 2012 to recognize "an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the science and/or technology of materials properties."  The award will be presented at the TMS-AIME Annual Awards Ceremony during the 146th TMS Annual Meeting in San Diego on March 1, 2017.  Professor Ritchie is receiving this award "For seminal contributions to the mechanistic understanding of the fracture and fatigue of a broad range of engineering, bioinspired and biological materials.”  More information about the award can be found here.
