Jiyun Kang

Jiyun Kang’s research interests lie in the areas of physical metallurgy, manufacturing, and in-situ microscopy, emphasizing the use of autonomous experimentation to develop advanced alloys with outstanding mechanical and environmental performance. Her research group focuses on developing autonomous metal processing and correlative microscopy tools, exploring fundamental microstructural interactions in metals at nano- to micro-scales—such as deformation, transformation, and failure—and designing alloys tailored for extreme environments.
